Players from all over the Philippines will be looking to make their long weekend a little more special by winning the Independence Day Special.
The four-day tournament, which will be held at the Metro Card Club in Pasig City to help commemorate the Independence Day long weekend, kicks off today at 3:00 pm.
A big guaranteed prize pool of Php 2,000,000 will be up for grabs for a buy-in of Php 3,000.
Many of the country's top poker players, such as Neil Arce and Kent del Rosario, are expected to be in attendance.
Mike Takayama, who won the Labor Day Special at the Metro last April, is another player looking to make a splash in the event.
Here is the complete schedule of the four-day event:
Day 1A- Friday June 11, 3pm
Day 1B- Saturday June 12, 3pm
Day 2- Sunday June 13, 3pm
Final Day- Monday, June 14, 3pm
Independence Day, a national holiday in the Philippines, is commemorated every year on June 12.
