Michael Marvanek Wins Second Macau Poker Challenge



The Poker King Club's second-ever Macau Poker Challenge took place this past weekend and it was Michael Marvanek who came out on top.

The Australian poker pro bested a field of 78 players in the HK $250,000 guaranteed event to take home the title.

Incidentally, Marvanek is a member of the Poker King team, which represents the Poker King brand at tournaments all over the world.

For the win, Marvanek took home a shiny new trophy and HK $89,000 in prize money. Meanwhile, runner-up Junwoo Oh was awarded HK $48,000 for his efforts.

In addition, Marvanek joins the ranks of Weng Hong Hoi, the Hong Kong player who won the first Macau Poker Challenge earlier this year.


The second edition of the Macau Poker Challenge was held on June 6 at the eighth floor of the StarWorld Hotel and Casino. The event guaranteed a HK $250,000 prize pool with the buy-in set at HK $2,750 + HK $250.

3. Yong Bin Yan (HK $26,400)
4. Kan Yew Fatt (HK $19,200)
5. Song "Tony" Tian Yuan (HK $16,800)

7. Wen Jie Dai (HK $12,000)
8. Phung Man Hue (HK $9,600)
9. Edwin Leong (HK $7,300)
10. Chan Sio Long (HK $4,800)
